Northern Co-operative Meat Company - (Est. 239) operates one of the worlds most sophisticated custom fabrication operations. The company has four boning chains, which allows it to be highly flexible in fabrication and provides an ideal environment for short production runs. The company is able to produce a diversity of products from a variety of carcase weights ranging from veal to heavy grain fed beef.
The company has in place accredited Meat Safety Quality Assurance (MSQA) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) quality systems and is also one of the few meat processing plants in Australia with an AUS-Meat A+ rating.
Products are fabricated for the US, Korean and Japanese markets. Products are also fabricated for the EU, Halal and Organic markets but are processed using a Segregation System. This ensures market accreditation standards are always met.
Special processing requirements can be provided at the customer's request such as 'Hot Boning'. Products are processed according to international and domestic industry standard specifications. To complement the vast range of processing options available to customers, the Co-operative can also assist customers with their own unique cryovac bag and carton printing requirements. For convenience a quantity of these can be held in stock.
The Co-operative regularly receives compliments from its overseas customers on the longevity of product shelf life. This positive feedback is a result of cold chain management practices employed throughout the plant.
As a final check, cartons containing manufacturing meat are x-rayed for your protection. To monitor that all products meet current food safety standards, testing for pathogenic or micro-organisms can be carried out on request. Other testing services can also be provided upon request.
